§ 62-101. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Unclaimed property means any such property turned over to the special services division which has not been restored to its owner under the provisions of chapter 47 of the state code of criminal procedures, as amended, and shall have remained unclaimed by its rightful owner for a period of 30 days from the date of acquisition by the police department or from the date that the property is no longer required to be held by the police department for evidentiary purposes or as otherwise required under the state code of criminal procedures.
